This is a layout of the 1/4 scale resin kit of the Mina character from the Samari Spirits video game. I began by washing the pieces in mild dish detergent. Then I dried each piece and began to sand and drill holes for connector pins that will help it stay together
This is a close up of more pins. I use small nails for the pins on the head, arms, legs, and skirt.
These are some of the smaller parts. I use super glue gel, and 2 part epoxy to hold the pieces together. Usually I get all the parts sanded and fitted together with pins and masking tape before I start gluing.
Here is the statue on a temporary base. It has been sanded and the main body parts have been glued and primed with light gray or white spray paint.
Another view. Note that there is a pin in the back of the head for the large ponytail.
And here is the final painted statue! The scale is 1/4 which is larger than most of the other statues I have made or collected. It stands about 24 inches from the top of the bow to the base. I bought a wooden base and sanded and painted it black. All the colors were arcylic paints using paint brushes of various sizes. The kit did not include string for the bow or the tie for the bikini top so I had to add those myself.
Such an awesome model, excellent work on it.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about doing this build my self also, where did you find yours?
Best regards
